Spain beats Croatia, England wins against Czechia with a man down

Spain won again in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday, beating Croatia 4-1 in Seville. England also got their first win of the campaign with a 2-0 victory over 10-man Czechia.

Lamine Yamal scored two goals as Spain followed up their 3-2 win over England on Matchday 1 with another strong showing against Croatia.

Marc Pubill and Nico Williams also scored for Spain, while Dion Beljo netted Croatia’s only goal.

Yamal started the scoring just two minutes in. He beat Croatia's goalkeeper Dominik Livaković after a clever flick from Fermín López.

Croatia equalized when Beljo, who was playing in just his third international match, headed in from Ivan Perišić’s cross for his first goal for the national team.

Spain quickly responded. Pubill headed in from a great cross by Yamal, putting Spain back in front.

Yamal then extended Spain’s lead when he finished at the near post after getting a pass from Pedri.

Williams rounded off the scoring in the 89th minute. He twisted free inside the box and fired into the net.

This victory gave Spain six points from their first two games and kept them at the top of Group A3.

In Prague, England grabbed their first points of the tournament with a 2-0 win over Czechia.

Anthony Gordon and captain Harry Kane scored after Czechia went down to 10 men in the first half.

Czechia’s Pavel Šulc was sent off for a foul on Elliot Anderson midway through the first half.

After the red card, England took control. Morgan Rogers hit the post, and Czech goalkeeper Matěj Kovář made a great save to deny Kane.

England finally scored just a minute into the second half. Gordon headed in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross into the bottom corner.

Kane then made it 2-0 by reacting quickly to a loose ball and sweeping it home.

This win was England’s first in the Nations League after their 3-2 loss to Spain on Matchday 1.
