The Eagle Online Will Keep Running After Founder Passes Away

The family of Oladotun Oladipo, the founder of The Eagle Online, has said that the digital news platform will keep operating after his death.

Mr Oladipo passed away on Tuesday, 25 August.

The family explained that Mr Oladipo, who started The Eagle Online in 2012, had set up plans to ensure the publication would continue before he died.

"He was very passionate about The Eagle Online and saw it not just as a business, but as a platform for responsible journalism and public service.

"Dotun had the foresight to put in place some form of a business continuity plan," the family stated in a message signed by Taiwo Oladipo on behalf of the family.

They mentioned that this plan has now been activated and is being improved to make sure the publication stays true to its founder's vision.

The family called Mr Oladipo's death a big loss to his family, colleagues, readers, advertisers, partners, and everyone who knew him.

They said he dedicated a large part of his life to journalism and worked hard over the years to grow The Eagle Online into a digital publication with loyal readers and a wide network of advertisers and partners.

According to the family, Mr Oladipo viewed the publication as more than a business; he saw it as a platform for responsible journalism and public service.

The family also wanted to assure advertisers and commercial partners that their ongoing relationships with the publication are still very important.

"We know many people have put their trust in The Eagle Online over the years. We do not take that trust lightly," the family said.

They said their immediate goal is to keep Mr Oladipo's legacy alive while making sure the publication continues to grow and serve its readers.

The family asked readers, advertisers, and partners for continued support as they manage the transition after his death.

They also thanked those who have reached out to the family since Mr Oladipo's passing and called for prayers and understanding.

"Dotun may have left us, but the work he dedicated so much of his life to will go on. The Eagle Online will keep flying," the family said.
