Former Big Brother Naija Lockdown housemate, Tochi, has some advice for ex-housemates facing tough times. He says they should forget their celebrity status and focus on hustling. Not everyone will succeed just because they were on the reality show.
Tochi, who was in the 2020 BBNaija Lockdown edition, shared this advice in a post on X on Friday. He urged his former colleagues to look beyond the fame from the show and concentrate on work, business, and personal growth.
“If you’re a BBNaija ex housemate and you’re going through a rough time, listen: pack up all that ‘I am a celebrity’ nonsense and lock it inside a box. Come out and hustle oh, if not you go cry pass new born baby oh,” he said.
Tochi mentioned that he stopped seeing himself mainly as a reality TV star back in 2024. Now, he sees himself as a businessman.
“I have even forgotten I went on that show since 2024. I see myself as a businessman now. Destiny differs; not everyone is destined to make it from the show. Keep your head up and live your truth,” he said.
Tochi also advised his colleagues to surround themselves with supportive people. He believes it is better to have friends who motivate and encourage them, rather than those who keep reminding them of their celebrity status.
He encouraged former housemates to be recognized for their work, character, and determination, not just as ex-reality TV stars.
“Surround yourself with people that support, motivate, and encourage you, not people that will use ‘shebi you know you’re now a celeb’ to block all your ears. When people see you, let them not see you only as an ex-housemate but also as a hustler with values trying to make it. Favor always meets a man in motion,” he added.
