Troops from Operation Enduring Peace have arrested two people linked to an attack on vigilante workers and the burning of their office in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The suspects were picked up around 1:40am on October 27, 2026, in the NEPA area of Jos North by troops from Sector 1 of the operation.

Capt. Chinonso Oteh, the Media Information Officer of Operation Enduring Peace, confirmed the arrest while talking to journalists in Jos on Wednesday.

Oteh said the suspects were connected to the attack on the vigilante group and the fire that destroyed their office.

"The arrest followed allegations linking the suspects to the attack on vigilante personnel and the subsequent setting ablaze of their office," he stated.

He noted that the suspects are now in custody for further investigation and necessary actions.

Oteh explained that the arrest is part of ongoing efforts by OPEP to fight crime and maintain peace in the state.

He assured residents that security forces would step up operations to find and arrest anyone involved in activities that could disrupt peace and security.

He also asked residents to assist security agencies by giving credible information that could help stop crime and catch suspects.

"We call on members of the public to cooperate with the military and other security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could assist in preventing criminal activities and apprehending suspects," he added.

He emphasized that public cooperation is key to keeping peace and security in Plateau State.
