The University of Calabar (UniCal) has repeated its ban on wild celebrations after exams. The school said these actions can disturb the peace on campus.

The Registrar, Chukwuka Icha, shared this message in a statement on Monday in Calabar.

Ms Icha is worried that some students, especially those in their final year, are still having wild celebrations after their last exams.

She pointed out that these celebrations often include reckless driving, flying of colors, and other chaotic activities.

She urged all students to stop these behaviors and follow the university's rules.

“The ban on wild celebrations within the campus, around the school gates and all cult-related activities remains in force.

“The management will not hesitate to sanction any student or group found violating the directive,” she emphasized.

She said the acting chief security officer must ensure strict enforcement of this rule on campus and in surrounding areas.

The registrar reminded everyone in the university community to pay attention to this message and follow the rules.

In 2024, there was a serious crash on the school grounds involving final-year students celebrating wildly after their final paper.
