A Christian youth group, The Youth in Christ Network, has launched The Next Worship Minister 2026. This is a nationwide talent search to find and support new worship ministers across Nigeria.
The group also announced that the winner will take home N5m and will perform at its main worship concert, Anything Is Possible. This concert is set to take place in Lagos on December 13, 2026.
The organisers said applications for the competition are now open and will close on August 10, 2026. After that, selected contestants will go through a review process leading to the live finale in December.
The winner will receive N1m in cash and a N4m professional recording package. YICN said this package is meant to help kickstart the winner’s ministry with studio production and other professional support.
Olugbenga Owoye, the founder and convener of Youth in Christ Network, said the initiative aims to give a chance to talented worship ministers who might not be seen otherwise.
“We are not just running a competition. We are opening a door. Every generation needs voices that can lead people into God’s presence, and some of those voices simply haven’t had a platform yet.
“We crown our winner at the end of TNWM, but that’s only the beginning. This December, the world gets to hear them live on the AIP stage,” he said.
YICN mentioned that the competition is part of its larger mission to raise, mentor, and empower young Christians through worship, creative arts, and community projects.
While discussing the upcoming concert where the TNWM 2026 winner will be announced, the organisers said it will be the highlight of the group’s yearly activities.
