Zidane becomes new coach of France until 2030

French football legend Zinedine Zidane has reportedly signed a deal to be the new head coach of the French national team until June 2030.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared this news in a Facebook post on Tuesday. He mentioned that the former Real Madrid manager will be officially introduced in the coming days.

"Zinedine Zidane has signed as the new France coach until June 2030. The story has been confirmed as Zizou will be unveiled as the new head coach in the next days. He is back to work with France," Romano wrote.

Romano also noted that Zidane is set to lead France in the 2027 UEFA Nations League, Euro 2028, and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

He ended his post with his usual phrase, "Here we go, confirmed."

Zidane, 54, has not held a coaching job since leaving Real Madrid in 2021 after his second time managing the club.

While at Madrid, he won three UEFA Champions League titles in a row from 2016 to 2018. He also secured two La Liga titles and other domestic and international trophies.

The 1998 World Cup winner has been linked to the France job for a long time. Many believed he could succeed Didier Deschamps, who has been in charge of Les Bleus since 2012.

Deschamps is likely to step down after the 2026 World Cup. Zidane has shown interest in coaching the national team and has been a favorite to take over.

As of now, the French Football Federation has not released any official statement confirming Zidane's appointment.
