Fourteen players from the Premier League scored goals for their countries during the September international break. Manchester City striker Erling Haaland topped the list with three goals for Norway.
The Premier League shared a review of the international matches on Tuesday. They highlighted the players who scored for their nations during the break.
Haaland netted two goals in Norway’s 3-2 win against Denmark. He added another goal in their 2-1 loss to Portugal.
Now, at 26 years old, he has scored 65 goals in 57 international matches. This includes 22 goals in the Nations League, making him the top scorer since the competition started in 2018.
Arsenal striker Viktor Gyökeres also scored twice for Sweden. He found the net in wins against Romania and Poland.
Newcastle United forward Yoane Wissa scored two goals for DR Congo during the break.
Liverpool striker Alexander Isak scored for Sweden in their 2-1 Nations League victory over Romania. His teammate Cody Gakpo scored a late equalizer against Germany for the Netherlands.

Brentford defender Kayode also scored on his debut for Italy. He helped his team to a 4-1 win against Turkey.
Isidor scored Haiti’s winning goal in the eighth minute of stoppage time. His goal helped Haiti beat Trinidad and Tobago 3-2 in the CONCACAF Nations League, and he also had two assists.
The Premier League reported other players who stood out during the break. Liverpool’s new centre-back Jeremy Jacquet kept a clean sheet on his debut for France. They won 1-0 against Belgium. His teammate Bradley Barcola played for 77 minutes.
The review also mentioned injuries to some Premier League players during international duty. This includes Liverpool’s Isak and Gakpo, Arsenal’s Kai Havertz, and Manchester United’s Patrick Dorgu.
The international break, which lasted 16 days, ends on October 6. Premier League games will start again on October 10.
