Fury signs up for drug testing ahead of Joshua fight

Anthony Joshua is on his way to London to meet Tyson Fury. This comes after Fury finally signed up for drug testing.

The two British heavyweights will clash on December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. This fight has been ten years in the making.

A press conference is set for Wednesday in London. But there is still some doubt about whether it will happen.

Joshua was ready to skip the press event if Fury did not register with the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).

AJ made sure his contract included a clause that both fighters must enter the testing pool after signing their contracts with Turki Alalshikh earlier this year.

But Fury’s team said he did not need to start drug testing until the fight was officially confirmed.

Just days before the Battle of Britain was announced last Thursday, Joshua pushed for Fury to join VADA. Fury had a two-year doping ban back in 2017.

Joshua even shared an email from VADA president Dr Margaret Goodman asking for Fury’s location.

According to The Sun, Fury officially joined the testing pool on Monday afternoon. This ends the long wait and uncertainty.

Now, Joshua can finally head from his home in Dubai to London this week.
