Music star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia shared songs from his upcoming album, “Oldest Young Man”, on Saturday during a listening party for his 51st birthday in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event brought together his children, mother, friends, and well-known figures in the entertainment industry. Some of the guests included Kenny Ogungbe, Dayo “D1” Adeneye, Wande Coal, African China, Ayo Makun, Faze, Tony Tetuila, Jide Awobona, and Spyro.
Natasha Osawaru, the Edo State lawmaker and 2Baba’s partner, did not attend the party. This absence comes amid ongoing rumors about their relationship. The reason for her missing the event was not immediately clear.
The mothers of 2Baba’s children were also not present. This includes actress Annie Macaulay, Sunmbo Adeoye, and Pero Adeniyi. Blackface, who has had a long-standing dispute with 2Baba over song ownership and credits for hits like “African Queen” and “Let Somebody Love You”, was also missing from the gathering.

2Baba announced that he separated from Annie, with whom he has two daughters, in January 2025 after being married for over ten years. They had a traditional wedding in Lagos in 2012 and a public wedding in Dubai the next year.
Sunmbo, who shares two sons with him, is now married to Pastor David Adeoye, the founder of Royalty Christian Centre. Pero, who has three children with 2Baba, was also not seen at the event.
2Baba’s children and his mother, Rose Idibia, joined him on stage to cut his birthday cake.
Guests enjoyed a throwback moment when 2Baba and Faze performed a freestyle, reminding everyone of their time in Plantashun Boiz. The audience gave them loud applause for the performance.
The two artists were part of the group that included Ahmedu “Blackface” Obiabo. Plantashun Boiz was formed in the late 1990s and became one of Nigeria’s top music groups before its members started solo careers.

Besides the birthday fun, the gathering allowed guests to listen to tracks from “Oldest Young Man” ahead of its official release.
He kicked off his birthday celebrations on Friday with the release of “Mental”, a collaboration with singer Fave.
He also took the chance to introduce 2Baba Jollof, a new food business, marking another step into entrepreneurship for the music star.
Mallam Yankee, 2Baba’s manager, mentioned that the birthday activities were not just about celebrating his age. He called them the start of a new phase in 2Baba’s career.
Yankee said this new chapter would involve more projects in the coming months while 2Baba continues to grow his music career.
Born on 18 September 1975, 2Baba became well-known as a member of Plantashun Boiz before he started a successful solo career.
His first solo album, Face 2 Face, released in 2004, included “African Queen”, the hit that made him a leader in African music.
Relationship Speculation

Rumors about a disagreement between 2Baba and Natasha came to light in August after an alleged fight at the launch of the ’90s Lounge in Abuja.
PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported that this incident sparked talks about issues between the couple after a video from the event was shared online.
The video showed Natasha and 2Baba during a confrontation, but it did not show what led to the encounter or the cause of the disagreement.
An eyewitness said Natasha came to the venue with a group of men and tried to talk to the singer. The witness claimed she approached 2Baba’s car after he arrived and asked to speak with him, which caused a scene outside the lounge.
This event happened shortly after 2Baba performed at Daddy Showkey’s “50 Years on Stage” event at Eko Hotels & Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos.
During that performance, the singer briefly referred to some of his recent troubles, saying he no longer wants to look for problems.
“I’ve decided not to look for trouble again. I’ve gone to look for trouble, and I’ve seen the trouble. Tell your neighbours never to look for trouble,” he said.
