2Baba Says He Won't Seek Trouble Again Amid Marriage Speculation

Nigerian singer Innocent "2Baba" Idibia has raised eyebrows with his statement about not wanting trouble again. This comes as people speculate about his marriage to Natasha Osawaru, who is a member of the Edo State House of Assembly.

2Baba made this statement while performing at Daddy Showkey’s ‘50 Years on Stage’ celebration at Eko Hotels & Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos, on Sunday.

The event celebrated Daddy Showkey’s 50 years in entertainment and featured 2Baba along with other Nigerian music stars.

While performing, the “African Queen” singer shared some thoughts about his recent experiences. He told the crowd that he has chosen to avoid trouble. "I’ve decided not to look for trouble again. I’ve gone to look for trouble, and I’ve seen the trouble. Tell your neighbours never to look for trouble," he said.

2Baba did not clarify what he meant by “trouble” or link his comment to Ms Osawaru or his estranged wife, Annie Macaulay. However, this statement has sparked reactions on social media, especially since it follows reports of an incident between him and Ms Osawaru outside a nightclub in Abuja.

PREMIUM TIMES learned that a video surfaced online on Saturday, showing moments from an incident involving 2Baba and Ms Osawaru during the opening of the ‘90s Lounge’ in Abuja.

The footage, which this newspaper obtained and has been widely shared, has led to many comments online. Yet, the video does not show what caused the reported confrontation or the details around it.

An X user named King, who said he witnessed the situation, claimed that Ms Osawaru came to the venue with some men and waited for 2Baba. He said she approached the singer’s car when he arrived and wanted to talk to him, causing a scene outside the venue.

Although the video from the X user did not show Ms Osawaru confronting the singer, he claimed that 2Baba later took her inside the venue to avoid further problems. Neither 2Baba nor Ms Osawaru has spoken publicly about what happened that night.

The singer’s recent statement also comes as people are talking more about his relationship with his estranged wife, Annie. PREMIUM TIMES reported earlier that 2Baba and Annie had started following each other again on Instagram months after they unfollowed each other due to their well-known separation.

The couple reconnected on Instagram after denying rumors about getting back together. They clarified that a video appearing to show them together was actually old. Checks by this newspaper showed that 2Baba had also unfollowed Ms Osawaru on Instagram.

These changes have led some social media users to wonder about the current state of 2Baba's relationships with both women. But neither 2Baba and Annie’s renewed connection on Instagram nor his decision to unfollow Ms Osawaru reveals anything clear about either relationship. His latest “trouble” remark also doesn’t connect to either woman directly.

This new speculation follows a series of controversies involving 2Baba and Ms Osawaru since their relationship became public in 2025. The singer announced his separation from Annie in January 2025 after more than ten years of marriage and then revealed his relationship with Ms Osawaru.

He proposed to the Edo lawmaker in February 2025. Ms Osawaru called 2Baba her husband in May of that year, and they held a traditional wedding soon after. Their relationship has caught the public’s attention many times.

The couple made headlines after a confrontation during an Instagram Live session hosted by Daddy Freeze. They also drew attention after reports of a fight in the UK, which allegedly led to 2Baba's arrest. In another incident, 2Baba publicly apologized to Ms Osawaru after saying in an interview that “men are not built for one woman.”

The Abuja incident, 2Baba’s activity on Instagram, and his latest comments have again sparked talk about his marriage to Ms Osawaru. Still, he has not said publicly that his comments at Daddy Showkey’s event were about his marriage or any recent issue.
