Supporters of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) are pushing hard for the return of former head coach Nurudeen Aweroro. The Ibadan team is having a tough time this season under Salisu Yusuf in the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League.
The calls for Aweroro grew stronger after Matchday 7. Fans are frustrated with the team's poor start. So far, the Oluyole Warriors have only managed to gather seven points from seven matches. They are currently in 17th place on the table, but they still have one outstanding match to play.
In a short video shared among fans, they demanded a complete overhaul of the technical crew. They want Aweroro back immediately. Last season, after playing the same number of matches, 3SC had 11 points and was in fifth place.
Aweroro led Shooting Stars to a third-place finish in the 2025/26 season. This achievement earned the club its first continental ticket in 27 years and a spot in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup. He left the club by mutual consent in August after spending 280 days as head coach.
Many fans think the current results do not meet the standards set during Aweroro’s time. They are calling on the club's management to act quickly to change things for the better. Yusuf is now under more pressure to improve the team’s performance and regain the fans’ confidence as the season goes on.
