APGA supports Soludo's role in Tinubu's presidential campaign team

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has congratulated Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. This is for his inclusion in President Bola Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign Council list for the 2027 general election.

The updated list from the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 presidential campaign includes the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke; Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori; Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo; former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola; and Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo.

This revised list was shared with journalists on Tuesday. President Bola Tinubu will lead the campaign council. Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, will serve as vice-chairmen.

In a statement by APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, the party said Soludo’s appointment shows his great leadership, commitment to progressive ideas, and his push for a partnership between APGA and the Federal Government. This is for the good of Ndi Anambra and Ndigbo as a whole.

Ejimofor mentioned Soludo’s saying that ‘Progressives are Working Together’ is not just a phrase, but a true statement in history. He added that APGA, being the first truly progressive party in Nigeria, shares the same beliefs with the progressive movement at the national level.

He pointed out that this partnership has already brought real benefits to Anambra State. These benefits include federal support for important infrastructure projects and ways to boost economic growth.

He also said that while APGA is in control of Anambra State, the party believes that in Anambra, it is Tinubu for President, APGA for Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly.

The statement said, “The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Grand Alliance heartily congratulates our National Leader and Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, on his well-deserved appointment as the Anambra State Coordinator of the President Bola Tinubu 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.

“This appointment shows Governor Soludo’s great leadership, his strong commitment to progressive ideas, and his consistent push for a partnership between APGA and the Federal Government for the good of Ndi Anambra and Ndigbo.

“As a party, APGA has made its position clear. At our National Executive Committee meeting and during Mr President’s visit to Anambra on May 8, 2025, we endorsed President Bola Tinubu as our chosen Presidential Candidate for the 2027 general election. Following this decision, APGA did not present a presidential candidate for the 2027 election.

“Soludo’s saying that ‘Progressives are Working Together’ is not just a phrase, but a true statement. APGA, as the first truly progressive party in Nigeria, shares the same beliefs as the progressive movement at the national level.

“This partnership has already brought real benefits to Anambra State, including federal support for important infrastructure projects and ways to boost economic growth.

“While APGA remains in control of Anambra State, our position remains: In Anambra, it is Tinubu for President, APGA for Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly.

“We believe that Governor Soludo will use his intelligence, organizational skills, and acceptance across the South-East to rally strong support for President Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda.’
