APM Names Ex-NNPCL Executive as Adamawa Governorship Candidate's Running Mate

The Allied Peoples Movement has introduced Safriel Glah, a retired top executive from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, as the running mate for its Adamawa State governorship candidate, Abdulrahman Haske, for the 2027 election.

Glah was presented as the party’s deputy governorship candidate during a media briefing in Abuja on Monday.

The party explained that this ticket aims to merge Haske’s private-sector experience with Glah’s over 30 years in public service and the oil and gas sector.

At the event, Haske called Glah’s selection a strategic move based on competence, integrity, experience and a solid record of service.

He said, “Today marks an important milestone in our collective vision for a more prosperous and forward-looking Adamawa State. In Safriel Glah, we have found a partner whose distinguished career embodies excellence, discipline, professionalism and selfless service.”

Haske added that while he comes from a background of entrepreneurship and investment, Glah offers extensive experience in public administration, engineering management, environmental governance and institutional leadership.

“Our partnership represents a convergence of complementary strengths. While I have spent years building businesses, creating opportunities and promoting enterprise, Glah has built an outstanding record in public administration, policy implementation and strategic leadership.

“Together, we offer Adamawa a competent, balanced and results-oriented team dedicated to transforming the fortunes of our state,” he said.

He also mentioned that combining public-sector experience with private-sector innovation would lay the groundwork for economic growth, job creation, improved service delivery and shared prosperity in Adamawa.

Glah worked for over 34 years in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry before retiring as General Manager and Head of Environment, Health, Safety and Environment at NNPCL.

Accepting the nomination, Glah expressed gratitude to the party leadership and the people of Adamawa State for their trust in her.

She said, “I stand before you today humbled and profoundly grateful as I accept the responsibility of serving as the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement alongside my principal and Governorship Candidate, Hon. Abdulrahman Bashir Haske. I deeply appreciate the confidence placed in me and the privilege to serve.”

The former NNPCL official emphasized that her professional experience taught her that leadership requires responsibility, teamwork and measurable results.

“As Deputy Governorship Candidate, I will support my principal, complement his leadership and work with our team to promote a vision of inclusive development, opportunity, accountability and sustainable progress for Adamawa State,” she assured.

Glah stated that politics should serve as a platform for unity and not division. She reaffirmed her commitment to the ticket and the people of Adamawa.

“I pledge my loyalty, cooperation and dedication as we undertake this journey together. To the people of Adamawa State, I am ready to listen, ready to work and ready to serve,” she said.

Meanwhile, the APM National Chairman, Yusuf Dantalle, and the Adamawa State Chairman of the party, Badejo Bello, described the Haske-Glah ticket as a mix of experience and private-sector expertise.

Dantalle stated that the party carefully selected a ticket that combines Haske’s entrepreneurship, innovation and economic vision with Glah’s public service experience and policy implementation skills.

Similarly, Bello noted that Glah’s addition would strengthen the party’s campaign, saying her public-sector career and management experience complement Haske’s business background, youth empowerment and enterprise development.

The APM stated that their focus will be on economic growth, effective governance and inclusive development as they approach the 2027 Adamawa governorship election.
