Argentina beat Switzerland 3-1 after extra time on Sunday. They moved to the FIFA World Cup semi-finals after an exciting quarter-final at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, USA.

Argentina took the lead in the 10th minute. Alexis Mac Allister scored from a clever pass by Lionel Messi. This goal came after a strong start from Argentina, who kept attacking while Switzerland struggled to defend.
Before the half ended, Switzerland's troubles grew. Embolo got a yellow card in the 44th minute for a late tackle.
After the break, Switzerland came back with energy. They equalized in the 67th minute when Dan Ndoye scored from a precise pass by Ricardo Rodriguez. But just five minutes later, Embolo got another yellow card, leaving Switzerland with 10 men for the rest of the match.
Argentina made some changes, bringing in Nicolas Gonzalez, Lautaro Martinez, and Gonzalo Montiel. Coach Lionel Scaloni wanted to boost their attack. Switzerland also changed things up, adding Silvan Widmer, Zeki Amdouni, and Miro Muheim. Eray Comert replaced Rodriguez during stoppage time.
With no goals in normal time, the match went into extra time. Argentina brought on Thiago Almada right before extra time started. Switzerland replaced Denis Zakaria with Ardon Jashari in the 96th minute. The game heated up with Almada and Lautaro Martinez both receiving yellow cards for tough tackles.
Argentina took the lead again in the 112th minute. Julian Alvarez scored after great play from Junior Lopez, making it 2-1. Lopez got a yellow card two minutes later. Switzerland made their final change, bringing on Ruben Vargas for Remo Freuler.
Lautaro Martinez sealed the win late in the second half of extra time. He scored Argentina's third goal, confirming their 3-1 victory. Switzerland showed great spirit after going behind, but Embolo's red card proved too costly against Argentina's better play.
