The Chief of Army Staff welfare flight has moved 332 military personnel in and out of the North-east region. This is part of regular troop rotation and support for their welfare.
This information comes from an operational report shared with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Wednesday.
The report shows that the first welfare flight in June took 174 personnel into the Operation Hadin Kai area and brought back 158 personnel.
The flights were carried out using a chartered ValueJet aircraft and were completed safely.
The military states that these welfare flights are important for boosting the morale of troops and improving their efficiency.
So far, a total of 33,097 personnel have been moved in and out of the area through this welfare flight program.
The Chief of Army Staff welfare flight program was set up to enhance the welfare and morale of troops in active areas, especially in the North-East.
This initiative provides regular airlift for personnel rotation, making it easier for them to move without the stress of long road trips on risky routes.
It also helps ensure that troops are deployed and redeployed on time while supporting logistics for command in the area of operations.
Since the program started, it has transported tens of thousands of personnel. This has helped in managing manpower and maintaining readiness for operations.
Military officials see this program as a key part of supporting troops and sustaining efforts in the fight against insurgency.
