The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) has moved 332 military personnel in and out of the North-east as part of regular troop rotation and welfare efforts.
This information came from an operational report shared with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Wednesday.
The report mentioned that the first welfare flight for June brought in 174 soldiers to the Operation Hadin Kai area, while 158 soldiers were flown out.
The movement was carried out using a chartered ValueJet aircraft and finished without any issues.
The military stated that the welfare flight is an important effort to raise troop morale and improve how they operate.
So far, a total of 33,097 personnel have been transported in and out of the area under this welfare flight program.
The Chief of Army Staff welfare flight program aims to enhance troop welfare, morale, and operational efficiency in active zones, especially in the North-East.
This program provides regular airlift support for troop rotation, making it easier and safer than long ground trips through dangerous routes.
It also helps with timely troop deployments and redeployments while aiding logistics across the operational area.
Since it started, this program has moved many soldiers, helping to manage manpower and maintain operational readiness.
Military leaders see this program as a key part of their efforts to support troops and sustain their forces in the fight against insurgency.
