Arsenal supporters from all over Nigeria will meet in Abuja on October 17. They will come together for a program that mixes football, community service, and efforts to boost the club’s presence in local areas.
This two-day event is organized by Arsenal Fans Club Nigeria. It will include the official unveiling of the club, its second Annual General Meeting, a market sanitation drive, and fun football activities.
Charles Ojugbana, the National President, shared details in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja. He said the program will unite members from various states and city chapters.
Ojugbana explained that this gathering aims to strengthen the association and support Arsenal Football Club in Nigeria.
The activities will kick off on Friday with the AGM. This meeting will allow members to review the club’s activities and discuss future plans.
“On Saturday, we will have aerobics, a novelty football match, and a sanitation campaign at Wuse Market in Abuja.
“As part of our community service, we will donate industrial waste bins and other cleaning materials to the market union to help keep the environment clean,” he said.
Ojugbana stated that this outreach reflects the club’s charitable goals, especially its dedication to helping vulnerable and disadvantaged people.
He also mentioned that the club draws inspiration from Nigerian players who have played for Arsenal. This includes former Super Eagles star Nwankwo Kanu and current players Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke, and Eberechi Eze.
According to him, the organization wants to improve the experience of Arsenal fans and grow the club’s following across Nigeria.
“The unveiling is set to attract notable Arsenal fans, like former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Sen. Dino Melaye, and Kanu, as well as business leaders and other celebrities.”
The national president added that Arsenal Fans Club Nigeria is run by a Board of Trustees, a National Executive Committee, and a General Assembly, which is its main decision-making body.
Apart from football and sanitation, the group plans to hold an awareness campaign for children with Down syndrome in March 2027. This will coincide with World Down Syndrome Day.
Ojugbana said the Abuja event is expected to help members build stronger bonds, promote charitable activities, and expand the association’s reach across Nigeria.
