Arsenal has revealed their squad numbers for the 2026/27 English Premier League season. New players Bruno Guimaraes, Christos Tzolis, and Illan Meslier got their shirt numbers.
The club made this announcement on its website on Tuesday. This change comes as the team prepares for the new season.
"Ahead of the 2026/27 season, we have seen some new faces arrive while other members of our title-winning squad have left for pastures new."
"That has led to some rejigging of our squad numbers, with some left vacant while others have stepped in to add to each shirt’s history," Arsenal stated.
Guimaraes will wear the No. 39 shirt. He has used this number throughout his career in honor of his father, whose taxi had the same number in Brazil.
Tzolis is assigned the No. 17 shirt. This number was previously worn by Oleksandr Zinchenko. It is also famous at Arsenal because of players like Alexis Sanchez and Emmanuel Petit.
Meslier will take the No. 30 shirt. This number was last worn by Raheem Sterling during the 2024/25 season. It was also worn by Eddie Nketiah and Yossi Benayoun before him.
Arsenal mentioned that the departures of Jakub Kiwior, Christian Norgaard, and Leandro Trossard left Nos. 15, 16, and 19 open. The club also noted that No. 18 was available.
Additionally, Nos. 25, 26, 27, and 28 have been vacant for the last couple of seasons.
