The Grammy-nominated track is a mix of Asake’s lively Yoruba sound and Wizkid’s smooth style. ‘MMS’ received a nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. This shows the song's worldwide appeal and highlights how Afrobeats is growing globally.
‘MMS’ is the most streamed song from Asake’s album Lungu Boy, which was released on August 8, 2024.
The success of ‘MMS’ follows the buzz from their joint project, Real Vol. 1 EP, which came out in January 2026. This EP includes hits like “Jogodo” and has quickly become popular. It reportedly hit major streaming numbers and topped charts in several countries.
