Atlético Madrid is the latest club to show interest in Victor Osimhen. They have reportedly asked about the Galatasaray striker as they prepare for major changes in the summer transfer window, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The Spanish club is watching the situation of the Nigerian in Turkey. This comes after uncertainty about their striker, Julián Álvarez, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal.

Álvarez was earlier reported to be on Barcelona's radar. But the Catalan club has lost interest because of the player's high €100m price tag.

There is new interest in the Argentine from Arsenal. This has made Atlético consider Osimhen as a possible replacement. The Nigerian has been doing well in Turkey.

Osimhen's Performance

Osimhen joined Galatasaray last summer and has thrived at Rams Park. Over two seasons, he has scored 59 goals and provided 16 assists in 74 games across all competitions.

Fichajes reports that initial talks have already started. The player is said to be interested in moving to La Liga. But Galatasaray wants at least €100m for his transfer.

Atlético is believed to be ready to pay that amount if Álvarez leaves the club.

Recently, Osimhen dismissed the idea of leaving Galatasaray after Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle hinted that he might switch clubs this summer. Sources close to the 27-year-old say he will only leave Rams Park if Galatasaray decides to sell him.

Interest from Other Clubs

Osimhen has also caught the eye of several top European clubs, including Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Manchester United.

If Osimhen joins Atlético, he will play alongside his Super Eagles teammate, Ademola Lookman, who moved to the club in January.

In the last season, Osimhen faced Atlético in the Champions League. The match took place on January 21 in Istanbul and ended in a draw. Osimhen praised Atlético coach Diego Simeone after the game.
