Former Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma has signed with Ajax on a deal that will keep him at the Dutch club until the season ends.
The 30-year-old defensive midfielder became a free agent after Tottenham released him in June.
Bissouma’s contract has an option for another year, according to BBC Sport on Wednesday.
Ajax technical director Jordi Cruyff stated that the club has been in talks with Bissouma since August.
"We have brought in an experienced player who knows what it takes to perform at the highest level. He is capable of playing in several positions, and we hope he will be available for selection as soon as possible," Cruyff said.
Bissouma joined Tottenham from Brighton in 2022 and played 111 matches for the north London club.
In August 2025, then-Tottenham manager Thomas Frank did not include Bissouma in the squad for the UEFA Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain due to ongoing lateness.
Bissouma made 11 appearances for Tottenham in his final season, all in the Premier League, as Spurs finished 17th for the second year in a row.
His move to Ajax gives the Mali international a chance to get back to regular football and continue his career in the Netherlands.
