Portuguese club SC Braga has signed promising Nigerian defender Adebisi Olamikun from Inter Lagos. This move was confirmed by Inter Lagos on their official X account. The 18-year-old has built a name for himself as one of Nigeria’s top young defenders.
The left-footed centre-back has agreed to a long-term deal worth about €50,000. Olamikun has already landed in Portugal, where he will start training with Braga’s youth team. He hopes to break into the club's senior squad soon. His transfer comes after a strong performance at Inter Lagos, where he showed solid defensive skills and earned recognition as one of the best young talents in the NPFL.
Inter Lagos' Growing Reputation
This transfer also highlights Inter Lagos’ increasing reputation for developing players who can succeed in European football. Olamikun is the latest player from the club's development system to make a move abroad.
Transfermarkt reports that Olamikun is the eighth Nigerian to join Braga. He follows in the footsteps of former Super Eagles defender Elderson Echiejile, who won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013. This transfer is a big step for Olamikun as he starts his career in Europe.
