Technical adviser Jeffery Buter has called on fans to come out in large numbers as his team gets ready for their first home game of the season against Abia Warriors. The match will take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan today, Sunday.
The Lagos club celebrated their first win of the season with a 3-0 victory over Inter Lagos in the city’s first derby in 10 years. They currently sit in 10th place with three points from two matches. Buter says that the past success is now behind them.
“We have had a week of rest and training, the boys look ready, as we have put the success of our last game behind us,” he said.
Buter believes that the victory has lasting importance. “The win over Inter Lagos was important as we do not want to go two games without a win; it will also help us build the momentum ahead of the Abia Warriors clash and beyond,” he added.
The coach is taking a careful approach, saying, “We have to take it one game at a time.”
“We have a long month ahead, with four games in 10 days coming towards the latter stage of the month. We will be ready.”
The home team also got a boost with the return of Aondona to training after dealing with an injury. Derby star Sodiq Ayoade is also one of the players fans will be eager to watch.
A second win would help the club climb the table after losing their opening match to Doma United.
