The new players come mostly from clubs in Europe and the Middle East. They include defenders, midfielders, goalkeepers, and forwards. Some will play in Nigeria’s friendly against Russia, while others will join the squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Chelle is creating different squads for the AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau. He is also preparing for the friendly against Russia. This friendly offers a chance to check younger players who could join the senior team.
