City Boy Movement sets up network across 4,522 polling units in Jigawa for 2027 elections

The City Boy Movement in Jigawa State has announced it is building grassroots structures in all 4,522 polling units across the state's 27 Local Government Areas.

Haruna Aliyu, the state coordinator and Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, spoke to journalists after a meeting with local mobilisers. He shared details about the group's plans for the upcoming elections.

Aliyu mentioned that the movement is also trying to bring members of opposition parties into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as they prepare for the 2027 general elections.

He promised to gather two million votes in Jigawa State to help re-elect President Bola Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi. To improve networking and engage with the grassroots, he said they have set up operational structures at state, local government, ward, and polling unit levels.

He explained that they have chosen five mobilisers for each of the 4,522 polling units in the state. "These individuals are tasked with conducting house-to-house campaigns highlighting the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration."

"So far, so good. We have created all the structures for the City Boy Movement in Jigawa, from the state level down to the polling units," Mr Aliyu said.

"With at least five representatives per polling unit, we have a total of 22,610 personnel consulting and campaigning to guarantee the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Malam Umar Namadi in 2027. We are fully prepared."

He expressed his belief that the APC structure in Jigawa State will deliver the votes needed to ensure victory for both leaders.
