The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, swore in 68 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) on Monday at the Supreme Court in Abuja.

The event took place during a special session marking the start of the 2026/2027 legal year.

In July, the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee approved the promotion of these 68 lawyers to the respected rank of SAN.

This decision was made at the LPPC’s 174th plenary session held in Abuja.

The new SANs include 67 advocates and one academic, Nnamdi Obiaraeri, who is a professor.
