Cultists kill Lagos party guest and dump body in river

A man known as Tosin has been killed by suspected cult members after they robbed him in Egbin, Ijede, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

PUNCH Metro found out that this sad event happened on Tuesday, September 15, when Tosin came from Ondo State to attend a gathering in the area.

A police source who spoke to our reporter said Tosin stepped out of the event briefly when some hoodlums attacked him.

The source reported that the attackers took his gold chains, mobile phones, and other belongings before killing him.

After the attack, they dumped his body in a river, according to the source.

"His body was found in a river in Agura on Thursday. It was later taken to the morgue," the source said.

Another police source mentioned that the discovery of Tosin's body led to a raid in the area on Friday. This operation resulted in the arrest of some suspects.

"The arrested suspects are being held for questioning. The police have started an investigation into how Tosin died and who was behind the killing," the source said.

The source also mentioned that they are working hard to uncover more details about the incident and catch any other suspects involved.

Abimbola Adebisi, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident.

She stated, "As of September 15, 2026, we had a case of a missing person, which was sent to the SCID. But by September 18, 2026, we found a corpse identified as his floating. We are investigating this case at the SCID."
