Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, who is also the African Action Congress candidate for the 2027 Abia State governorship, collapsed on Friday. She was taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Umuahia after she lost consciousness.

Reports say Ogala fainted during a consultation earlier that day. A video circulating on social media shows the moment she collapsed.

After receiving treatment, she gave an update on her health via Instagram. "I was rushed to FMC Umuahia. I lost consciousness. Glory to God I am stabilised now," she posted alongside a video from the hospital.

While at the hospital, Ogala was seen in a wheelchair. She took time to speak with other patients and hospital staff. Video clips showed her praying with some of the patients.

Doris Ogala recently became the AAC's candidate for the Abia governorship. She plans to challenge the current Governor Alex Otti in the upcoming 2027 elections. Her campaign focuses on the people's needs, boosting the economy, and creating jobs.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions online. Some people praised her for being kind and supportive to other patients. Others, however, were more skeptical.

Many social media users suggested that her collapse might be a publicity stunt linked to her political goals. Some comments even referred to her as "acting" or putting on a "drama" due to her background in Nollywood.

There were also questions about her health and whether she is fit for office. Some urged her to take care of herself first before pursuing her political ambitions. Still, a number of users commended her actions, emphasizing the importance of showing support for sick people.
