A man who said he is the uncle of gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, known as ToluwaniSings, has asked for a fair investigation into the singer’s death. He warned against any interference or attempts to hide details about what happened.

The uncle, Lawal Ademola, made this request during an interview with Dunmininu Kingdom. The interview was shared on Facebook on Monday.

He called on the government, community leaders, and law enforcement to ensure that the investigation is done properly. He emphasized that no one should be mistreated or protected from questioning.

“Please help us, our elders, as we seek a proper investigation into the death of Sodiq. You who are the government, our leaders, and the law, please enforce the law and empower the investigation so that there won’t be biased judgments or victimisation.

“Nobody should interfere or try to cover things up regarding Sodiq, because this has deeply affected us,” he said.

In another video, Lawal spoke about his visit to ToluwaniSings’ house. He said when he arrived, some family members were watching television.

He also talked about a disagreement over ToluwaniSings’ burial plans. He wanted the singer to be buried at their home where he lived with his wife and children.

However, the wife did not agree. She said she couldn’t bear to see her husband’s body at home every day, especially with the children around.

The disagreement went on as other relatives suggested taking the body to Ikirun for burial. The wife also rejected this idea, saying that the location was too far.

Lawal referred to ToluwaniSings as Sodiq, the name he was given at birth in his Muslim family.

PUNCH Online had previously reported on details surrounding ToluwaniSings’ death. The family confirmed he died on October 14, 2026, and there were claims that he was taken to eight hospitals before he passed away.
