Nollywood's faith-based film, Agbara Nla: The Return, has made ₦408.3 million at the Nigerian box office. This makes it the second-highest-grossing Nollywood film of 2026, following Blessing Uzzi’s Call of My Life.
Nile Entertainment shared this news in an Instagram post on Monday. They called the film the “No. 1 title for four consecutive weekends.”
In a flyer they posted, the distributor stated that Agbara Nla is the “highest-grossing film ever released in October” and the “highest-grossing faith-based title of all time.”
The flyer noted Agbara Nla: The Return as the “2nd highest-grossing Nollywood title of 2026,” showing its box office earnings as ₦408.3 million.
In the caption, the distributor exclaimed, “₦408.3 MILLION AND STILL MAKING HISTORY!” They added, “Thank you Nigeria, this is YOUR victory!”
They also mentioned that the film “continues its historic run” and is still showing in cinemas across the country.
The film was directed by Damilola Mike-Bamiloye. Call of My Life, which has earned over ₦900 million, is currently the highest-grossing Nollywood film released in 2026.
PUNCH Online reported that Agbara Nla made ₦354.5 million at the box office after it hit cinemas on October 1, according to Nile Entertainment. This latest figure is an increase of ₦53.8 million from earlier earnings.
Agbara Nla is a remake of a 33-year-old Christian classic from Mount Zion. It also recorded an opening weekend gross of $120,660 in selected cinemas in the UK and Canada.
Co-produced by Mount Zion Film Productions, Sozo Films, and Circuits, Agbara Nla: The Return was distributed internationally in Europe with the help of IFEC.
Nowe Segun-Ojo, the General Manager of Nile Entertainment, said the company's success shows their distribution strategy since they started in August 2024.
