Three-time champions El-Kanemi Warriors and surprise team Ikorodu City will face off in the men’s final of the 2026 President’s Federation Cup. They reached the final after winning their semi-final matches on Wednesday.
Ikorodu City had a thrilling match against Nasarawa United. The Lagos team won 4-2 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 in regular time. The game took place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
This loss adds to Nasarawa United’s tough history in the cup. They also lost in the 2021 final at the same stadium. In that match, they fell to Bayelsa United after a penalty shootout, with the game ending 2-2.
Ikorodu City showed great composure during the penalties. They secured a historic spot in the final with this win.
In Katsina, El-Kanemi Warriors demonstrated their strength with a 3-1 win against Wikki Tourists. The Maiduguri team, champions in 1991, 1992, and 2024, controlled the match to reach the final again.
El-Kanemi Warriors are looking to add another trophy to their collection. Meanwhile, Ikorodu City aims to finish their impressive cup run on a high note when both teams meet in the final.
