Liam Delap scored two goals as Nottingham Forest celebrated a 3-1 victory over Manchester City. This win marked Forest's first home Premier League win of the season on Saturday.

Forest started strong with two goals in the first half. Jair Cunha opened the scoring after he took advantage of a mistake from Josko Gvardiol. Cunha powered past the City defender and hit a low shot into the bottom corner.

Forest doubled their lead when Xaver Schlager won the ball in midfield. He quickly passed to Delap, who ran forward without any challenge. Delap then finished with a powerful shot that beat Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Manchester City had chances to turn the game around before halftime. Erling Haaland had a shot cleared off the line. Enzo Fernandez also missed a good headed opportunity.

After the break, City came back strong. Rayan Cherki scored a fantastic goal with a half-volley that found the net, cutting the deficit to 2-1.

The visitors kept pressing for an equaliser and held most of the ball. But Forest was always a threat on the counter-attack.

Delap put the game away with his second goal. He finished a quick counter-attack with a curling shot into the top corner, making it 3-1.

This loss leaves Manchester City six points behind Arsenal, who won 1-0 against Hull City earlier in the day.

With this win, Forest moved up to 16th place, now two points clear of the relegation zone. They showed great performance against the defending champions.
