Guinea-Bissau beat Nigeria 3-0 in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying Group L match at the 24 de Setembro National Stadium in Bissau on Tuesday.
Franculino Djú scored the first goal for Guinea-Bissau in the 15th minute. He fired a left-footed shot past Nigeria's goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali after Renato Nhaga set him up in the box.
Nigeria tried to equalise before half-time. Alex Iwobi set up Ademola Lookman, but Guinea-Bissau's goalkeeper Embadjé made a great save.
After the break, Guinea-Bissau kept attacking and increased their lead with Mama Baldé scoring in the 65th minute. Baldé got the ball from Mamadi Camará on the left and sent a low shot into the net.
Nigeria made some changes to try and get back into the game. George Ilenikhena and Raphael Onyedika came on for Akor Adams and Wilfred Ndidi in the 75th minute. But the Super Eagles could not score.
Ilenikhena almost got a goal in the 85th minute, but Embadjé was there again to stop him with another save.
Guinea-Bissau finished off the game in stoppage time. Álvaro Djaló scored the third goal after getting a through ball from Tamble Monteiro. He finished with his right foot.
This loss means Nigeria has to put in more effort in their qualifying campaign. They had previously won against Madagascar 2-1 in their last Group L match.
