Ikorodu City kicked off their 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season in style, topping the table after a 3-1 win against newly promoted Ranchers Bees on Sunday. This was reported by PUNCH Sports Extra.
The Oga Boys found themselves down early in the game. Ranchers Bees scored in the seventh minute, putting Ikorodu City on the back foot. But the Lagos team quickly bounced back. In the 30th minute, Umar Dan’Azumi found the back of the net to equalize.
Just before half-time, Ikorodu City turned the game around. Abayomi Ayodeji scored to give the hosts a 2-1 lead. The Oga Boys were now in control as they headed into the break.
To seal the deal, Ikorodu City scored again in the 87th minute. Farouk Salami stepped up to take a penalty and converted it, making the final score 3-1. The victory marks a strong start for Ikorodu City this season.
