João Pedro named Player of the Month in the Premier League for August

Chelsea forward João Pedro has won the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month for August 2026. He has started the new season with a bang.

This is the first time the Brazilian striker has received the Player of the Month award. He is also the first Chelsea player to win it since Cole Palmer took it home in September 2024.

On Friday, Chelsea's website shared that Pedro won the public vote, beating Palmer and six other players to claim the award.

Pedro scored just 33 seconds into Chelsea's opening match against Fulham. He then assisted Palmer for the winning goal.

He kept up his strong performance in the next match against Brighton & Hove Albion. Pedro scored again and assisted Palmer for the decisive goal.

With two goals and two assists in these matches, he quickly became one of the key players at the start of the Premier League season.

His performances caught the attention of fans worldwide. The public vote confirmed him as the Player of the Month for August.

Pedro received his award at Chelsea’s training ground in Cobham. This is a big achievement for João Pedro and another highlight in his strong start at Chelsea.
