Jordan’s national football team has received a lot of praise for leaving their dressing room clean and giving gifts and a handwritten note after their match against Algeria in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

FIFA shared a video of this kind gesture on its social media on Tuesday. They called it “ultimate respect” from the debutants after their Group J match.

Jordan lost 2-1 to Algeria at Levi’s Stadium. This loss, along with their earlier defeat to Austria, meant they were out of the tournament at the group stage.

Even with this disappointment, the team made a good impression off the pitch.

Video from the locker room showed black chairs neatly arranged, clean cubicles, and everything looking tidy.

On a white table, the players left boxes of traditional Jordanian sweets. They also included gift sets with commemorative pins and keychains. These had Jordan Football Association badges, national team crests, and small red jerseys.

The team left a handwritten note that said, “Thank you for helping make Jordan’s first FIFA World Cup experience a truly unforgettable one.

“Your dedication, professionalism, and warm hospitality have contributed to a memorable occasion for our team and supporters.

“As a small gesture of appreciation, we are pleased to share with you some of Jordan’s traditional sweets, a taste of our rich traditions and renowned hospitality.

“With our sincere gratitude and best wishes, Team Jordan.”

FIFA called this post “Ultimate respect,” praising the team for their behavior.

Fans and analysts have praised the gesture. Some compared it to actions by other teams like Japan, known for their good post-match behavior.

Jordan’s participation in the 2026 World Cup is a historic moment for the country.

Head coach Jamal Sellami said he is proud of his team’s performance and discipline despite their early exit.

The team will play their last match against group leader Argentina on Sunday, June 28.

While this game does not matter for Jordan, Argentina has already qualified for the round of 32.
