Fuji music star Wasiu "Kwam 1" Ayinde has responded to claims that he fathered and abandoned a 12-year-old girl named Azizat.

The singer spoke about the issue while performing at the 10th coronation anniversary of the Onikate of Ikate, Lateef Adams. His comments were shared with PREMIUM TIMES on Saturday by his media aide, Kunle Rasheed.

In the video, Kwam 1 did not confirm if he knew the accuser, Ogechi Eleana, nor did he mention any past relationship with her. Instead, he dismissed the claims and suggested that people use social media.

"On your phone, turn on Bluetooth. Go to TikTok, then go to Facebook. Anybody who has an unnecessary pregnancy is just like a giveaway," he said. "These children, don’t kill me. Go and say it on TikTok and other social media platforms."

Allegations

The claims arose from an interview Ms Eleana had with Feel Right News TV. She stated that she worked as Kwam 1’s pedicurist and that their relationship lasted over seven years.

Ms Eleana alleged that she got pregnant with Azizat during this time. She claimed that when she told the singer, he asked her to terminate the pregnancy and even offered to pay for it. After she refused, she said he blocked her calls.

According to her, she asked the late Kabiru Agbabiaka to help her reach Kwam 1. Ms Eleana also claimed she visited Kwam 1’s mother, who was reportedly upset when she saw Azizat, saying the child looked just like the singer.

Daughter’s appeal

Azizat, who was with her mother during the interview, asked for help, saying she has stopped going to school.

"I’m a 12-year-old performer. I have written my own music based on my experiences, but I have not found anyone to help launch my career," she said. "I heard my father is a billionaire, but I am not seeing that reality. People sometimes come to film me to help, but I end up disappointed. I see him supporting others with millions, but he refuses to come to my aid. My mother has been through a lot; he should come forward."

Background

This is not the first time Kwam 1 has faced public criticism over his role as a parent. In September 2024, this newspaper reported that actress Bisola Badmus accused him of abandoning their son, Malik, and not providing financial support. While they later reconciled publicly at a ceremony in Ikeja, these ongoing claims have kept Kwam 1's personal life in the news.
