KWAM 1 sparks discussion with 'unnecessary pregnancy' song after paternity claims

Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, better known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, is trending on social media. This follows a video of him performing a song about "unnecessary pregnancy." This performance came just days after a woman accused him of abandoning her and their 12-year-old daughter.

Reports from PUNCH Online say the trouble started after an interview with Ogechi Eleana on Feel Right TV. She claimed that KWAM 1 refused to take care of their daughter, Azeezat.

Ogechi Eleana, a graduate of Lagos State University, said she worked as KWAM 1’s manicurist and pedicurist before their relationship began. She stated that they were together for over seven years, which led to her becoming pregnant with Azeezat.

She alleged that when she told the Fuji singer about the pregnancy, he told her to end it and promised to send money through one of his aides for the abortion. But according to her, the money never came.

Eleana claimed that after she decided to keep the pregnancy, the singer stopped talking to her. She eventually sought help from the late Kabiru Agbabiaka, who allegedly reached out to KWAM 1 on her behalf while they were at a palace.

"When the girl was a year plus, I went to Kabiru Agbabiaka. He was alive then. We went to the palace and he called Wasiu on phone but he lied against me on the phone," she said.

Eleana also said she later visited KWAM 1’s late mother. She became emotional upon seeing the child. "His mother saw us, she looked at this baby and started tears. That was the first time I was seeing Wasiu Ayinde’s mother. She said, ‘I am still alive and I have given birth to myself.’ The girl took the face of the mother."

In the same interview, Azeezat claimed that the last time she saw the Fuji musician was on July 30, 2025, in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. There, he reportedly denied knowing them. She begged the singer for financial help.

"I heard that my father is a billionaire, if not a trillionaire. I was told that he has money. He should help me. I am tired. Things are not working. Tell him to help me," she said.

KWAM 1 performed at the 10th coronation anniversary of the Onikate of Ikate, Oba Lateef Adams. A video from this event has gone viral on social media. Although he sang shortly after the allegations, KWAM 1 did not say if the song was about Eleana or her claims.

While on stage, the Fuji musician told the audience, "On your phone, turn on Bluetooth. Go to TikTok, then go to Facebook." He then sang, "Anybody who has an unnecessary pregnancy is just like a giveaway."

As the crowd reacted, he added, "These children, don’t kill me. Go and say it on TikTok."

KWAM 1 has not directly addressed the paternity claim or responded specifically to Eleana’s accusations that he abandoned her and their daughter.
