Liam Rosenior Takes Over as Manager of Paris FC

Former Chelsea coach Liam Rosenior has been named the new manager of Paris FC. This is the Ligue 1 club where Nigerian winger Moses Simon plays, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

Paris FC announced Rosenior's appointment on Tuesday. The former Chelsea and Strasbourg coach signed a contract that will keep him at the club until 2028. The team is getting ready for another season in the French top flight.

Rosenior, who is 41 years old, replaces Antoine Kombouaré. Kombouaré took charge in February and successfully helped Paris FC avoid relegation before stepping down at the end of the season.

Rosenior returns to Ligue 1 just months after leaving Chelsea. He had a short time there following Enzo Maresca’s exit. His previous experience in France was with Strasbourg, where he led the team to UEFA Europa Conference League qualification in his only full season.

The timing of his appointment is exciting for Paris FC. The club is supported by the Arnault family and Red Bull. They want to establish themselves in Ligue 1 after earning promotion.

Rosenior will lead a team that is expected to include Super Eagles winger Simon. Simon joined Paris FC from Nantes last summer after spending six seasons with the Canaries.

Simon was one of the club’s top summer signings. He proved himself as one of Ligue 1’s most consistent wide players. Last season, he scored three goals and provided three assists in his first season in the capital.

While at Nantes, the Nigerian scored 37 goals and made 42 assists in over 200 appearances. He also helped the club win the Coupe de France in 2022.

Simon is expected to play an important role under Rosenior. Paris FC is starting to build a long-term project under their ambitious ownership.

Rosenior is set to officially start his duties this week as pre-season preparations pick up pace ahead of the 2026/27 Ligue 1 campaign.
