Glasner Questions Future at Nottingham Forest After Loss

Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner has raised concerns about his future at the club after their 2-0 loss to Brentford on Saturday.

This defeat leaves Forest in 19th place in the Premier League, just one point above the bottom. The pressure is on as they prepare to face league leaders Manchester City next weekend.

After the match, Glasner spoke to BBC Sport. He admitted he had made too many compromises during his time at the club and said changes are needed now.

“It’s now time not to make compromises, it’s now time to show a clear way and everybody has to follow.

“And if they don’t want to follow, then I guess then the sixth manager will come in,” he told the BBC’s Match of the Day.

Glasner also warned that Forest cannot keep playing this way. He promised to make changes to fix the team’s problems.

“Today is completely clear, we have to change something, a few things.

“I have to change a few things, and I will change a few things, 100%. We can’t continue in the same way, we have to change a few things, and that’s the key,” he said.

Forest has lost four of their last five league matches. Their only positive result in that time was a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town.

The loss to Brentford was especially disappointing. Brentford had not won in four matches before facing Forest.

Neither team had a shot on target until Brentford’s Igor Thiago scored their second goal in the 76th minute. The first goal was an own goal by Nikola Milenkovic.

Forest managed just one shot on target, which came two minutes after Brentford scored their second goal.

Glasner pointed to defensive mistakes and a lack of finishing as reasons for the poor performance.

“We are making too many mistakes, the defence, then we are down. We controlled the game,” he said.

He added, “We are making too many mistakes in our defence and we are not ruthless enough, good enough, in finishing. That’s the truth.”

Forest will aim to bounce back when they play Manchester City next weekend. Glasner is under pressure to improve results and avoid more questions about his future.
