Liverpool has signed Jeremy Jacquet, a France Under-21 centre-back, from Rennes in a deal worth around £60 million, which is about $79 million.
The Premier League club reached an agreement for the 20-year-old back in January. He has now signed a five-year contract at Anfield, with the chance for another year if he gets international clearance.
Jacquet should be ready for pre-season. He missed the end of last season in France due to a shoulder injury he got in February.
“I feel really good, the first impressions are good and I am very happy to start here,” Jacquet said on Liverpool’s website on Wednesday. “It’s a big dream for me.”
Jacquet made 33 senior appearances for Rennes after coming through their youth system. He spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Clermont.
