Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved two new buses for Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) in Ibadan. The buses include a 32-seater and an 18-seater. This is to help the club with their activities.
The news came from a statement released by the Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade, on Sunday.
Mr. Oyelade said this support follows Shooting Stars’ great win against CS Sfaxien from Tunisia. This match was in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round held in Abeokuta.
He mentioned that the approval shows how committed the state government is to back 3SC as they represent Oyo State on the continental stage.
This continental competition is special for Shooting Stars. It is their first time in 27 years to participate in such an event.
Mr. Oyelade also said that the governor has promised the fans and supporters of the club that the state government will keep helping them. This support aims to help Shooting Stars compete for continental titles.
He added that the government wants to not only keep the club’s current success going but also bring back the past glory of the “Darling Club of Oyo State.”
The commissioner called on the players, coaches, and management of Shooting Stars to stay focused and committed. He assured them that the government will continue to support them.
