Marafa promises to tackle banditry in Zamfara if elected

The governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress in Zamfara State, Kabiru Marafa, has promised to fight insecurity and put an end to banditry in the state if he is elected in 2027.

Marafa believes that banditry can be solved quickly if it gets the right focus and seriousness. He shared his views on Thursday, highlighting that the fight against insecurity has not been taken seriously by those in charge.

“I will either end banditry in my first tenure in office or resign. I was commissioner in the state and senator at the National Assembly for many years. As such, I am conversant with the problems affecting my state as well as the country in general.

“If elected as governor in the coming general elections, within a period of two years, I will end insecurity in the state by the grace of God or vacate my office,” he said.

He called on the people of Zamfara to support him and all NDC candidates to ensure their success in the 2027 elections. Marafa is confident he can lead the state to new heights and will pay attention to other important areas of the economy, especially those that affect women and youths.

“As you are aware, women, children and youths constitute a higher percentage of the population of every nation.

“As such, I will do everything humanly possible to ensure that they reap dividends of democracy under my administration if elected as governor,” he said.
