Balmoral Promotions and Stamina For Sale have started the Stamina High Performance Academy in Nigeria. This new project aims to find and develop the next generation of Nigerian boxing stars, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
The Academy will open at the same time in Lagos and Akwa Ibom. It combines Stamina’s boxing skills from the UK with Balmoral’s boxing and promotion experience in Nigeria.
The goal is to find talent, help athletes grow, and create paths for Nigerian fighters to reach professional and international boxing levels.
Tunde Ajayi, the founder of Stamina For Sale, said Nigeria has great boxing talent that needs proper support. “The objective of Stamina High Performance Academy is to identify that talent, develop it properly and create a pathway for athletes with the ability and ambition to progress to the highest levels of the sport,” Ajayi said.
Ajayi is known for developing fighters in the UK. He has worked with famous boxers like Anthony Yarde, Joel Kodua, Daniel Dubois, Adam Azim, Danny Williams, and Harry Simon. He is especially recognized for helping Yarde grow from an amateur to a world-class fighter, using his System9 training method.
“Launching in Lagos and Akwa Ibom gives us an important starting point. We want to build something that can grow over time and create a genuine connection between Nigerian talent and high performance boxing in the United Kingdom and internationally,” Ajayi added.
Dr Ezekiel Adamu from Balmoral Promotions also shared his thoughts. He said Nigeria has both passion and talent for boxing. What is needed now is to make more chances for that talent to be found, developed, and shown.
“Our collaboration with Stamina brings together Nigerian opportunity and United Kingdom expertise. The launch of Stamina High Performance Academy is an exciting first step, and we are looking forward to seeing what the next generation of Nigerian boxers can achieve,” Adamu said.
More details about the Academy’s first talent trials in Lagos and Akwa Ibom will be released soon.
