Nollywood actress Nnenna Orji has been named Best Actress in Africa at the Breakthrough Awards Uganda. This award recognizes her hard work in the African film and performing arts scene.
A statement sent to Saturday Beats said the award celebrates Orji’s amazing talent and ability to take on different roles in films. She has shown versatility and consistency in her performances.
The plaque described her as a performer with “remarkable emotional depth, strong screen presence, and the ability to bring characters to life with authenticity and passion.”
It also praised her dedication and artistic excellence. Her performances continue to inspire and entertain viewers across Africa.
In a video message, Orji thanked the organizers and everyone who has supported her journey. She said, “This is me saying a very big thank you to Breakthrough Awards Uganda for crowning me the Best Actress in Africa. I feel honoured and appreciated. Thank you so much.”
Orji also congratulated the other nominees and winners. She thanked Ugandan actor and model Shali Ahmed for his support and encouragement.
This award marks another achievement in Orji’s acting career. She started as a child actress before taking a break to finish her education. She earned a degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
After completing her studies, she returned to acting. Since then, she has built a strong reputation as a reliable performer in the industry. Over the years, she has appeared in several productions like ‘Love for Nelson’, ‘Crossroads of the Heart’, ‘I Met an Angel’, ‘Healing Energy’, and ‘Pure Heart’.
