Nigeria National League (NNL) officials will gather in Owerri, Imo State, on Friday, August 21, 2026. They will hold the league's 17th Annual General Meeting. The focus will be on plans for the 2026/27 season, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

All 36 clubs in the league are set to arrive in Owerri on Thursday, August 20. They will leave on Saturday, August 22, after the meeting.

NNL Chief Operating Officer, Danlami Alanana, shared that the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has given the green light for the state to host the meeting.

"We are delighted that the sports-loving Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, has magnanimously approved NNL’s request to host our AGM. This is one of the most important events in our calendar," Alanana said.

Important topics for discussion will include plans for the new season, club licensing rules, and possible changes to league regulations.

Key figures from the Nigeria Football Federation will also join the meeting. This includes President Ibrahim Gusau and General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi.

The exact venue for the meeting is not yet announced. The NNL Secretariat will inform the participating clubs about the location soon.

Alanana praised Uzodimma for supporting football and sports development in Imo State.

The last NNL AGM took place in Kaduna State, hosted by the Kaduna State Government at the 5th Chukker Resort in Maraban Jos.
