Rixel Studios has unveiled its new film called ‘Black Market’. The movie stars Lateef Adedimeji and Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, among other well-known actors. This film aims to set a new Guinness World Record.

This is the studio's second film after debuting with ‘Red Circle’ in 2025. ‘Black Market’ was written by Abdul Tijani-Ahmed and Fatimah Gimsay. Its release is set for September 26, 2026, at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.

Rixel Studios shared a statement with Saturday Beats. They said the premiere will not be a regular screening. The producers want to gather 50,000 people at one location to break the Guinness World Record for the largest film screening.

The record attempt is being organized with help from FilmOne Studios, Signet Ring Studios, and Switch Visuals Production. If they succeed, they will break the current record of 43,000 attendees.

Nora Awolowo leads the team at Rixel Studios. She spoke about the project, saying it shows the company’s drive for new ideas.

“We are excited to go on this journey as a team and we have taken a lot of lessons from our previous film. As young filmmakers, one of our aims is to continue to creatively look for ways to innovate,” she said.

The Chief Content Officer at FilmOne Studios, Ladun Awobokun, also shared her thoughts. She sees the record attempt as a chance to show off Nigerian film talent worldwide.

“We are incredibly excited. This is more than a film project. It’s an opportunity to create history and showcase Nigerian creativity and Nollywood on a global stage,” Awobokun said.

The movie was filmed in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Fatimah Gimsay directed it. The cast includes Lateef Adedimeji, Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Itele D Icon, Scarlet Gomez, Omowunmi Dada, Teniola Aladese, Susan Pwajok, Uzor Arukwe, Folagade Banks, Tomiwa Tegbe, Andrew Bunting, Shamz Garuba, and Adeoluwa Akintoba.
