The National Sports Commission has promised to give the Super Falcons $5,000 for every goal they score in the group stage of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko made this announcement during his visit to the team’s camp in Rabat on Tuesday. This visit was ahead of Nigeria’s first Group C match against Malawi.

While visiting, Dikko also handed the players the housing documents that the Federal Government promised them after their success at the 2024 WAFCON, which took place last year.

Nigeria won their record-extending 10th continental title after making a stunning comeback from two goals down to beat hosts Morocco 3-2 in the final.

After this victory, President Bola Tinubu announced a reward package that included $100,000 for each player, $50,000 for every member of the technical crew and backroom staff, a three-bedroom house for each victorious squad member, and the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger.

The presentation of the housing documents was part of the promises made following the team’s historic win. Dikko said the ceremony was planned to coincide with the squad’s return to Morocco for this year’s tournament.

Nigeria is the most successful country in WAFCON history, having won 10 out of the last 13 editions.

Along with defending their title, the Super Falcons are also aiming to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. The 2026 WAFCON serves as Africa’s qualifying tournament for the World Cup. The four semi-finalists will qualify automatically, while a fifth African team can qualify through the intercontinental play-offs.
