Onuachu wins Goal of the Season in Turkey

Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu has been named the Süper Lig Goal of the Season for 2025/26. He earned this honor for his fantastic goal against Fatih Karagümrük on September 27, 2025, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

The Nigerian forward scored a stunning bicycle kick in Trabzonspor's 4-2 win during Week Seven. This goal put him ahead of Beşiktaş midfielder Orkun Kökçü and Fenerbahçe forward Marco Asensio.

Onuachu connected with a cross from Wagner Pina and executed an acrobatic overhead kick that beat goalkeeper Ivo Grbić.

“You chose, he won. The winner of the most beautiful goal of the 2025/26 Trendyol Süper Lig season has been determined: Paul Onuachu,” the league said on Sunday.

There are rumors about a possible summer transfer, but the Super Eagles striker aims to maintain his impressive form next season.

Onuachu had a fantastic season for Trabzonspor, netting 22 league goals and providing two assists. He finished as a joint top scorer with İstanbul Başakşehir’s Eldor Shomurodov.

After a remarkable 10-match scoring streak to reach 22 league goals, Onuachu slowed down at the end of the season. This allowed Shomurodov to catch up in the race for the Golden Boot.

Despite this, the striker had another successful run with Trabzonspor. He scored 15 league goals during his loan period before making a permanent transfer to the club.

He has also been linked with a move away from Trabzonspor. Reports say Saudi Arabian clubs are ready to offer him better terms.
